If you see either the MoveOn ad or this effort as a swipe against our fighting men and women, you have missed the point and I am sorry. Our volunteer military men and women serve honorably.
And while no parent would send their son or daughter off to war with enthusiasm, it is just and right to feel pride when your child is engaged in the noble and unselfish act of protecting their country.
Our objection is to senseless war, especially senseless war without end. No parent wants their child killed or maimed for George Bush’s (or his would-be-heir, John McCain's) mistakes.
And while no parent would send their son or daughter off to war with enthusiasm, it is just and right to feel pride when your child is engaged in the noble and unselfish act of protecting their country.
